Gerd Diet
Yes it is possible to cure gerd with a simple diet.
It is very surprising the medical problems that can be cured by diet and natural remedies. I have suffered from severe heartburn and was even considering surgery. I have been following a diet and natural treatment plan and my heartburn has disappeared. I am heatburn free. The surgery has been cancelled! There are natural, dietary and holistic treatments for acid reflux and heartburn which are 100% effective.
More about acid reflux:
Regurgitation of acid from the stomach occurs because of dysfunction of the lower esophageal sphincter. If acid reflux is frequent and/or prolonged then mediacal problems can result. These include: esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus), benign esophageal stricture and Barrett’s esophagus.
Acid reflux is associated with a many factors including smoking, alcohol, hiatus hernia, pregnancy, obesity, large meals, tight clothes, drugs (anticholinergic medications, tricyclic antidepressants, and nitrates taken for angina).
The symptoms of gerd reflux include: heartburn, belching, water brash (excessive salivation), painful swallowing, and nocturnal cough or wheeze.
Simple Heartburn Solutions and Tips
Whatever is causing the heartburn a few simple tips and guidelines can minimize the frequency of heartburn. Certain foods are more likely to precipitate an episode of heartburn. Both acidic foods like pickles, vinegars and sauces and fatty foods such as fry ups and pastries are the most common causes. These foods may increase the amount of stomach acid produced. It is also a good idea to avoid raw vegetables like radishes, onions and peppers. Other foods to avoid are unripe fruit, hot chillies and curries. Drinks that can worsen acid reflux include coffee, tea, alcohol and fizzy drinks.
It is also important how you eat. Try to eat several small meals rather than one or two large ones; your digestive system will find this much easier to cope with. Chew food thoroughly, eat slowly and relax while eating. After meals an infusion of dill, fennel or apple mint leaves can help to prevent gerd. One strategy that can aid some heartburn patients is to avoid mixing protein and carbohydratess at the same meal. This is a version of the Hay diet.
Losing weight if necessary is very important, and see your doctor for a health check to ensure there is no underlying medical problem that requires investigation or treatment
